More About Jared

mental

Jared Tendler, MS, LMHC, is an expert in golf psychology, who forged his unique perspective on the mental side of golf through competitive golf and a Master’s degree in psychology. Having worked with golfers for three years, his practical and straightforward approach is successful with golfers of all ability, from tournament professionals to beginners.

In college Jared played for Division III Skidmore College where he was a 3-time All-American, Scholar All-American, two year captain and won 9 events. Jared’s drive to turn professional out of college was thwarted by successive failures in pressure situations when trying to take his game to the next level. Instead, the opportunity to combine two passions, golf and psychology, lead him to pursue a graduate degree in counseling psychology from Northeastern University. After then gaining two years of full time practice to become state licensed as a mental health counselor, Jared turned his education and experience in psychology back towards golf.

Over the past three years, having worked with over 200 hundred golfers, Jared is establishing himself as an innovator in the field of golf psychology. His client list includes an LPGA tour winner, PGA and Nationwide Tour players, top ranked juniors and many satisfied avid golfers. Jared has appeared in Golf Magazine and several regional newspapers in Phoenix and Connecticut. More recently Jared’s expertise is being lent to professional poker players, which has become an enjoyable way to extend his ability to help people increase their performance.

After leaving competitive golf 8 years ago, he regained competitive form playing in several events on the Pepsi Tour in the winter of 2007. His career low round is 63 at Moon Valley CC in Phoenix.
