What is Shriners International's connection to Shriners Hospitals for Children?

Shriners International founded and continues to support Shriners Hospitals for Children as its official philanthropy. The Shriners are active supporters of the health care system - thousands volunteer as drivers, transporting patients to and from the hospitals for care, and many others visit and entertain patients. Shriners also serve as tour guides and volunteer in various departments at the hospitals. Many temples (chapters) organize fundraisers to benefit Shriners Hospitals for Children, and Shriners voluntarily serve on the local and international boards for the hospitals and health care system.
